RZ-HP3 SUPER HELMET
RZ-HP3, B2Z Racing’s latest Super helmet and first helmet in the world to meet the new FIA 8860 Standard.
Since July 1, 2004 FIA-8860 is mandatory in Formula One Racing. This standard is intended to improve overall helmet performance to suit the needs of Formula 1. For maximum safety, the B2ZRZ-HP3 features a pure carbon shell using autoclave technology, combined with a specific expanded carbon polystyrene energy absorbing liner. Tests show that in certain impacts, the B2ZRZ-HP3 absorbs up to 40 percent more energy than is required by FIA-8860 standard.

HELMET STANDARDS
All our helmets are F.I.A. approved and have the latest required Snell S.A.(special application) rating rather than the Snell "M" (Motorcycle) rating. An S.A. helmet is required to have a fire retardant (Nomex) interior and chin strap, usually constructed of Kevlar or Nomex.
The shell construction is required to take both the primary, and secondary, or rebound impacts (i.e. roll cages), that are common in racing accidents.
Many S.A. rated helmets are available in Kevlar/ fiberglass or carbon fiber/ fiberglass composite materials. The kevlar and carbon materials are not only stronger, but can be as much as 30% lighter than the same helmet in fiberglass. If your particular motorsport activity involves high G forces,
endurance racing, or you just want increased comfort and safety, you should consider one of these lightweight helmets. Fiberglass is a standard shell material, and is the most popular and common material used in good quality helmets. It has very good strength and shock absorbing qualities and is
an excellent alternative to the higher priced composite helmets. Please note that the quoted weights depend upon the size of the particular helmet.
VENTING
Helmet vents vary greatly with brand design philosophy. They vary in position from the chin bar, forehead, crown, and the rear of the helmet. What ever the location, the primary objective of all helmet manufacturers is to reduce fogging of the visor and/or keep your head cooler in
the heat of battle. Some racers I know should wear them 24/7!!!
HELMET FITTING
Any helmet should fit snugly, but with out causing any discomfort. Each person has a slightly different shaped head, and some helmets brands will fit differently than others of the same size due to the fact that they have different internal padding systems. Accurate measurement is
very important when ordering a helmet. If you wear a one or two layer balaclava under your helmet ( and you should!), make sure you are wearing it when you measure the circumference of your head. If a hood is unavailable, add about a 1/4 inch to the total measurement for a single layer and 1/2 inch
for a two layer balaclava.
MEASURING
The best tool for this is a tailor's ribbon tape measure, available at any store that sells sewing products. Measure the circumference of your head around the largest part of the back of the head, just above the ears and approximately one inch above the eye brows. Click
